SushiSwap’s newly elected Chief Executive Officer (or “Head Chef”) is accused of mishandling wallet abuse by his former employer.
While these claims may seem daunting, they are still a headache for DeFi platforms accustomed to leadership drama. And we are taking legal action.

Jared Gray was elected Chief Chef of SushiSwap in an on-chain election led by a venture capital firm on October 3, accusing Gray of being still a stranger to many of the protocol.
The alleged misconduct centers on Gray’s negligence allegations during a series of internal hacks in 2019 at the then-CEO DeFi protocol ALQO.
Twitter user @YannickCrypto, who worked with Gray to stop the 2019 ALQO hack, described these accusations on Twitter Monday.

Already down 90% from its 2021 peak, SushiSwap’s native SUSHI token is down another 10% on the news.
Tokens have been on the rise since the election.

ALQO (later renamed EONS) allows users to store crypto assets using Liberio, a wallet software.
In February 2019, Liberio users suddenly started complaining about lack of funds.
At the time, Yannick disclosed on-chain data suggesting that one of ALQO’s developer wallets was involved.
